BACKGROUND:
Steve has been helping business owners and their key people with their investments and planning since 1989. His entire professional career has been with Principal Financial Group®. He started as an advisor and moved to the corporate headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa in May of 1992. It was here where he worked as a project manager developing field leaders and financial representatives.
He moved to California with Principal in 1997. From 1997 to 2022 he served in several leadership roles in Principal's Northern California in Roseville. That team currently includes more than 50 representatives in four offices: Roseville, Walnut Creek, Elk Grove, and Modesto. In September 2022 he moved from the Regional Managing Director role to a financial professional role and continues to work with his clients and as a resource for other financial professionals and their clients.
Steve is passionate about leadership. He is a past local president (1999-00, 2012-14) of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). He has also served on the state board as a committee member. He often travels to Washington DC to lobby for his industry and the public at large. He is a member of FINSECA professional association and the society of Financial Services Professionals (SFSP).

INTERESTS:
Steve and his wife of 30+ years reside in Granite Bay, CA where they are active in their local community and church. Their son graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Business; he and his wife work and reside in Granite Bay. Steve's daughter graduated from George Fox University with a Master's in Teaching and lives and teaches high school in Iowa; she is also the head coach of her school's varsity track team.
